I can’t separate these two as individuals as Huey and Riley both had an equal impact on the culture. Both are voiced by the talented Regina King. Huey has more of a “woke” serious personality as the older brother, and Riley is the louder and socially in touch brother. Both are very strong in their beliefs and iconic Black kid cartoon characters. Lucius Best, aka Frozone, is one of my favorite voiced superheroes and one with a great background story. He has the power to turn things to ice and tried to enter the Winter Olympics, but his superpowers caused him to be rejected. Now, he helps his best friend Mr. Incredible and his family when in need. Numbah 5 is the cool kid and the smartest and second in command at Sector V. For some reason, I love when characters talk in the third person, and when Numbuh 5 calls herself “Numbuh 5,” I love it every time. PENNYYYYYY! Penny Proud is an extroverted preteen who was the main character of the staple 2000s Disney Show. She is your everyday teenage girl protagonist who wants to talk to boys, but her dad is not having it. Penny is extroverted and very cool with everyone she comes in contact with. Truly one for the people. Susie Carmichael is the OG IT Girl. Only 3 years old, Susie is fluent in 10 different languages, becomes a great singer, and was the rival of the main character of the Rugrats, Angelica Pickles.  In every Black friend group, you have that one friend who excels in the role of storytelling. Gerald is that friend. Gerald might be the most loyal friend on this character list and rode with Arnold with every situation he was put in. A real one for sure. Fillmore is a former delinquent turned Safety Patrol Officer. At the age of 13, he has the talent of kung fu, mini golf, and Chinese finger trap mastery. The first African-American princess in the Disney princess franchise is the beautiful 19-year-old, Princess Tiana. Tiana is hands down the most impactful character on this list as little Black girls all over the world can see someone like them as a princess. Garnet is voiced by singer and Apple Music DJ Estelle. Garnet is one of the first characters in my memory that displayed a lesbian relationship, and her character’s marriage led to the first-ever same-sex marriage on Cartoon Network. Out of all the main characters on the show, Missy appears on the show the least, but the episodes that highlight her are ones that are must-watch. Missy is a short girl who is smart and has two professors as parents. She has a mixed background, though I’m waiting for the show to describe more of her back story. Suga Mama is the youthful grandma who stays hip and always shoots her shot at Papi. Suga Mama is one of the most exciting characters on this list.  “With great power comes great responsibility.”  Once Peter Parker faced his death, Miles Morales came through to fill the void. Morales was such a great addition to the Marvel community. Keesha always has a plan! Keesha’s only about the “facts” and is the most skeptical member of the magic school bus gang!  T’Challa we all know was wonderfully played by Chadwick Boseman on film, but before that, Stan Lee wrote the Black Panther cartoon character. T’Challa is a member of the African royal family of the fictional country of Wakanda. Who would have thought Cleveland would have been the character on Family Guy to get a spinoff? Cleveland and his family killed it, and I love seeing a Black cartoon family that jokes as much as they do. I relate to Jodie so much. She’s popular despite being very introverted. She’s usually always giving advice and being the voice of reason. Cyborg is the life of the party. His intelligence is his best skill, and that makes me happy to see a Black man bring representation in that way. Black Dynamite is the man! Black Dynamite is the ’70s super masculine superhero who loves everything Black. Valerie Gray is the biggest frenemy of Danny Phantom. She’s a crazy ghost-catcher! When she has her sights set on a catch, she does whatever it takes, and that persistence makes her character exciting. Let’s keep it a bean, Mr. T is a certified legend! Everything he does is great, and this just added to the legacy. Virgil is a young teenager who gains powers and vows to stop evil in his city. The show was only on for four years and deserves a reboot. Rallo in many ways acts like Stewie Griffin if he was African American. Rallo is a very aggressive 5-year-old compared to Little Bill beforehand. Rallo is transitioning into growing a relationship with Cleveland and Cleveland Jr. Oscar Proud is one of the best dads in Black cartoon history. Oscar owns Proud Snacks and is always part of a get-rich-quick scheme. He takes care of his kids and wife, and is a great family man. This list has a couple of tomboys, but Trixie might be the sassiest of them all. As the only female friend in her group, she’s the rock. She keeps Jake Long and Spud’s secrets to herself, and in the end, proves to be loyal. Monique is HER! Monique is Kim Possible’s bestie. Raven-Symoné voices Monique, which is iconic in itself. Soul is one of the best Disney movies of the past five years. Joe’s passion is playing jazz music. This leads him to now being a band teacher at a local middle school. Joe Gardner is the first African American protagonist in a Pixar feature film. Let me clarify; now, I know Piccolo is not Black (he’s not even a human lol), but this character is the most relatable non-human character in the Black community. He just resonated with us; if you know, you know. Piccolo is the second strongest being on Earth and fights Goku throughout the beginning of the show. Fat Albert is the group leader, main protagonist, and head singer of the Junkyard Boys. Everyone loves Fat Albert; might be a crime if you don’t. Storm has the ability to control the weather. Storm is one of the most influential characters ever for Black women. She is a character who every woman wanted to be, like, at least once.
